Using a Google sitemap TN-W08
To use a sitemap in Google:
- Export from PowerMapper using the Export command on the File menu on Windows or the toolbar on Mac, choose the Google Sitemap option, and name the file sitemap.xml
- Upload sitemap.xml to the root directory on your web server (usually the same folder as the home page)
- Login to Google Webmaster Tools (see Webmaster Tools help if you don’t have an account yet)
- Navigate to the Sitemaps section of Webmaster tools (Optimization: Sitemaps on the left hand menu)
- Click ‘Add/Test Sitemap’
- Enter the address of your uploaded sitemap (e.g.
https://www.example.com/sitemap.xml
)
